Awakening the Yogini:
Extraordinary Yoga & Education for Women™
**limited to 8 participants**
Upcoming Course Schedule:
Fall, 2010, TBA
"Yogini" is a word that refers to a passionate and insightful woman who practices the mental and/or physical disciplines of yoga. A yogini's path empowers her to get, and stay, connected to her physical, emotional, mental and spiritual bodies; she is a strong woman who speaks freely and gracefully, is capable of profound transformation and growth, and is committed to vibrant all-over health. A yogini feels intuitively that she is part of a larger universe filled with energy, mystery, and adventure. She cultivates compassion, truth, and a connection with all beings and natural cycles. Extraordinary Yoga & Education for Women™
5-week Training, Workshop and Discussion Group
at 581 Boylston Street in Copley Square, Boston**limited to 8 participants**
Upcoming Course Schedule:
Fall, 2010, TBA
This women only 5-week training, workshop and discussion group will consider questions specific to the female body and will address how yoga, breathing, meditation, and other awareness practices can cultivate more vibrant overall health for women. Limited to only 8 participants, this unique gathering will be a protected and intentional space in which you can get the knowledge and practice you need to understand, heal and claim your body. It's also designed as a training ground for psychologists, yoga teachers, bodyworkers and other health practitioners who want to expand their toolbox for working with women.
Each week's lecture and experiential process will give insight into different aspects of the female body and life, drawing from expert sources in many schools of yoga, bodywork, dance, medical science & folk traditions, as well as Caroline's own dynamic path of professional work and personal healing. To be clear, this is not a yoga practice or mat class-- it is a forum in which we'll discuss what "healthy" really is, the possible issues or imbalances that might occur in women's bodies, and learn yogic prescriptions that can help restore equilibrium and prevent new injury or discomfort. There will be plenty of space for questions, emotional support and voluminous belly laughter. Women in all stages of life and practitioners at all levels of yoga experience are encouraged and invited to participate. (Schedule subject to change slightly.)
Week One: Introducing The Yogini's Tools for Awareness, Asana Sequencing, and How to Build a Life Practice that really works...on and off the mat
Week Two: The Bones, Muscles, Organs and Supporting Structures of the Female Body, including Sexual Anatomy and Orgasm
Week Three: Vibrant Emotional Health and Ecstatic Living, including The Theory of Scar Tissue and Healing Trauma
Week Four: The Transformational Stages of Life and The Blood Mysteries (menstruation, ovulation, pregnancy, pre-natal, post-natal, menopause and perimenopause)
Week Five: The Chakras, The Meridians, Accessing and Demystifying Kundalini, The "Dura Mater" and The Subtle Energy Body
It is also strongly suggested, but not required, that participants attend Caroline's group yoga class during each week of the workshop, which will echo the themes of our discussion. Class happens on Mondays at 5:45pm at Karma Yoga Studio in Central Square, Cambridge.
Week One: Building tools for a struggle-free, deeply attentive yoga practice
Week Two: An experiential anatomy class for discovering and freeing your hips, pelvis and low back
Week Four: Deep Flow work to explore the ebb and flow of our natural cycles: the waves of movement in the spine, the flow of inhale to exhale, intensity and gentleness, rest and activity, creation and letting go.
Week Three: Cultivating Rasayama or The Practice of Feeling, using yoga to experience emotion and clear out old, stuck energy. We'll work with both the subtle & gentle releases, and the enthusiastic & cathartic releases.
Week Five Step into the realm of the extraordinary! Exploring Prana, the Chakras, and the Meridians as a way to awaken pleasure, power & freedom...on and off the mat.
Two Fee Options:
$275 for workshop PLUS one 60-minute private bodywork, coaching or yoga session. (This option is strongly recommended as you may find you want one-on-one support and check-in time with Caroline as the workshop progresses. This is also recommended if you don't already maintain a regular yoga or bodywork practice. Your one-on-one session must be scheduled within one month of completing the course. Click here to schedule your "Awakening the Yogini Included Session.")
...OR...
$220 for workshop only (If you change your mind and want to add the private session to this option, you have until the last day of the class to do so.)

Winter Solstice Yoga and Fire Ceremony
TBA, Winter 2010
On the darkest day of the year when the Sun is farthest from the earth, we come together in a light-filled festival of Yoga, Movement and Fire. Drawing from age-old traditions of honoring the sacred dark of mid-winter, this workshop includes a creative, all-levels yoga practice followed by a ritual of flame and ceremonial smoke.
The yoga practice and the ceremony will address themes of darkness & illumination, the natural cycles of creation & destruction, and also real-life issues like “burn-out,” seasonal depression and fatigue. We’ll discern for ourselves what we are ready to let go of and what we are ready to bring “into the light,” igniting new intentions and calling on the Sun to begin its yearly journey back toward us.
As Marrianne Williamson writes, "Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us."
